Doherty Clinical Trials Ltd undertakes safe, ethical early phase clinical trial research that addresses cost and time barriers for the development of novel medicines and vaccines.

Doherty Clinical Trials Ltd is establishing a new clinical trial unit in East Melbourne. The purpose-built facility contains a 25-bed unit for inpatient clinical research, isolation rooms, screening, and outpatient rooms, and a PC2 laboratory.

 

 

The Medical Officer (MO) is responsible for medical activities at Doherty Clinical Trials to support the implementation of early phase clinical trials. This role requires oversight from pre-study activities (protocol review etc), patient screening, oversight of study activities, including dosing, monitoring for and managing adverse events, through to close out of the clinical trial database. The Medical officer will work closely with the Chief Medical Officer, the Nurse Unit Director, and other clinical staff to ensure that participant safety is paramount, and that complete GCP compliance, protocol adherence, and adherence to unit standard operating procedures is maintained.

 

The Medical Officer will oversee multiple clinical trials varying in complexity, with overlapping timelines, and may be required to be involved in all aspects of the participant experience within the clinical trial.

To protect the health and safety of participants, staff and other healthcare workers, vaccination for certain diseases is highly recommended for staff.
